"I bought one today (a Sirius home model) and quality is excellent. I can definitely see and appreciate both the foresight in design and the excellence in execution. Very nice clean glass mold work as well as very good fit and finish. The glasswork is inline with that seen in high quality marine applications ( a very nice gelcoat and consistent glass thickness). The quality gap between them (other manufacturers) and Sirius to that between a Yugo and a Benz" J.C. USA (An American customer’s comments posted on www.astromart.com).
"John: Forgive me - seeing what's going on in the world, perhaps I shouldn't say this - but I think I love you!! Yes, of course I can get some help. On a ranch we can usually come up with someone with a conscientious hand. I really look forward to what you people have come up with and I guarantee very flattering letters tom Sky & Telescope and Astronomy magazines considering how helpful you folks have been." V.F. WYOMING, USA
"I've got to tell you, it was a good decision purchasing your product. This winter we had gusts of wind in the 75-85 mph range. The Home Model Dome had no damage or leaks. All the equipment was protected as advertised". D.B. USA
"Yes, I have checked out (another dome manufacturer). It is a nice looking product. However I feel the Sirius product is superior after doing a lot of research. One drawback that I heard from a few people regarding the (other dome manufacturer) and (another dome manufacturer) is that they are not pre drilled and pre assembled. What happened to a couple of people I know is that the parts did not fit together well and a lot of time and effort had to be spent to get the observatory to go together well. In one instance a person I know who is quite knowledgeable on observatories, domes etc. decided to sent everything back because in his opinion there was no consistency between many parts that should have fit together effortlessly. Maybe these people just got some bad ones. All I know is I haven't heard anything negative about the Sirius product. This is what I'm leaning towards." M.B. USA
The customer of a competitor wrote to us … "Thank you for your offer, as you may know I tried to purchase a 7'6" model a while back but could not make contact with your distributor. During this time I purchased the 6' home dome from (another dome manufacturer). I would have preferred your 7'6" model. I am installing this dome on a new home that we are presently building. I regret that it is not your product." J.D. USA
"I have used (another dome manufacturer) and can say without hesitation that your product is MUCH, MUCH higher quality. I would love to see your domes more widely used in North America. You have a clearly superior product." D.G. CANADA
"Received great Sirius home observatory two weeks ago. Will send pictures when completed - hopefully in a few weeks" P.A. SOUTH AFRICA
"Just a short note to say how delighted we are with the observatory. It is quite splendid. Also thank you for sending me the extra wheels for the sliding roof. All good wishes for your continued success." R.C. AUSTRALIA
"I bought my home dome from Sirius some years ago. I hadn't seen one, I knew nothing about them, but decided everything I wanted from a dome had to be from outside the UK, and that I thought the Sirius was best for my application. Having bought it I was delighted, and then became the UK agent. All the domes are pre assembled, and checked for operation, they are then crated and sent. When you get them, you just bolt them together. The quality is second to none, and I am still delighted with mine, as are the people who have bought from me since. I said I was biased, but my money was spent prior to me being the UK agent. A quality product, and quality company, and you can buy from them with confidence. It is a great product and will last you for years. Modular & upgradable." Kevin Smith - Sirius Observatories UK
"I've chatted with customers and they had good experiences with you, which is so important for someone in Australia exporting to the U.S." D.M. USA
"Regarding Sirius’ customer service: they’ve been grand to me, and I’ve never actually been a paying customer of theirs. I have a Home model, and am very satisfied with both the observatory and my interactions with the folks in Australia. I purchased my observatory "used" from a private party, so I was never actually a paying customer of Sirius. Nevertheless, they promptly and happily helped me with a few problems that I had -- including e-mailing the user/assembly manual, and sending me a couple of small parts at no charge. They are a very nice company to work with!" B.B. USA
"I have a mini-tower plus 17 inch CRT monitor, keyboard, etc in one (storage) locker. I have drilled a hole through the bottom of this for fairly thick (10df) coaxial cable. I have sat in the locker myself, (but with my head forward!). I also had a family in for a viewing night one time. The 5-year old got tired, (it was way past her bedtime!), crawled into the locker and went to sleep. In short, I'd say the locker is very strong." Greg "I agree in addition to a PC and monitor, I have 2 100ah marine batteries, a 10 amp power supply, a UPS (with a 17 ah batt) and a 1200 watt invertor sitting in a single locker panel with no problems." J.T. USA
"This 22' 0" (Sirius University Model) fiberglass observatory is intended for professional scientific application. It is extremely detailed and functional for multi-applications with all the professional requirements suited for research or institutional use. It is constructed with two complete entry doors, illuminated exit signs, handicap access, in accordance with Federal guidelines, solar powered dome rotation and shutter opening, "guest" 20 amp AC charger and electrical power panel. Dome rotation is effortless with zero dB noise inside the observatory. It has no exposed mechanics, or driving members, in accordance with OSHA standards." M.S. USA
"I have been very happy with the Sirius unit. After being in the Sirius for over a year, I realize now the (another dome manufacturer) 6 footer would have been to small, and the 10 foot would have taken up more space than I really would have wanted. The only thing I would change if I had to do it over again is I would have put their dome on my building. Not that there is anything wrong with their walls, it just would have given me more room inside. My unit seats on a 8x8 foot deck so I have some wasted space on the corners. I would buy another Sirius unit." J.T. USA
